ANIMAL FARM!
Last saturday was the DAY to visit the animal farm! i didn't even know that there's an animal farm located deep within the ulu ulu parts of yio chu kang, until i went there to get an eye opener... I went with RSPID peeps and trainees to see animals @ the farm... Well, it didn't look like a farm which i envisioned it to be like those nice, old fashioned farms you see in england or on picture books...it was hmmm...pretty old...kinda run-down...got animal feces stench all over the place...reminded me tt i stepped on cat feces on the way to work recently...yucks!


Okie, tt animal you just saw, is known as the GEESE..repeat after me...Geez..anyways, i was kinda surprised when the guide told us tt geeses were used in kampong areas to guard their compounds...why? geeses actually chase strangers away (like humans, animals, except those ferocious animals like python etc) and they "bark" real loud and inform the guards about intruders...the guide went on to say tt the indonesian govt uses geeses to patrol or guard their prisons...cos geeses are real sensitive to slight movements like tip toeing..and are able to sound the alarm of an intruder or escapee asap...more efficient than humans patrolling huh..

Reptile species, iguana, needs to bask in the sunlight daily for at least 6 hours...why? cos it wants a brown tan...duhs...no lah...it actually needs the sunlight's heat to help digest and breakdown the food...

this iguana quite poor thing, caged in a tiny shelter, have to make do with an artifical lamp as a substitue for the sun...tsk tsk...life as a caged reptile..sure aint tt cool







How cool is this? BABIES!! the mama rabbit just gave birth to a litter of babies...all pink and probably blind, cos their eyes haven't open up yet..and they were wringgling over all the floor..ahhaha...the guide was telling us, not to touch the babies, cos the mama rabbit will eat it up, if it picks up a different scent tt doesn't belong to her babies..

i suddenly think tt rabbits are damn cute, but i heard they are quite prone to illness and all sorts of diseases...i shall only admire their cuteness from afar den





Everybody crowded around the area where the goats, ponies and birds were kept...cos they wanted to feed them with the animal feed..my trainee got the goat feed, and we were trying to get her to be brave, put the feed on her hand, and feed the goat...but she was damn scared...i had to demo many times, tt the goat was trying to lick the food off my palm, and not bite my palm...well, i guess, goats and ponies aint chen sze's type of animals...she likes cat...i like dogs...haha...

anyway, flies were swarming around the goats, ponies...and one of the kids commented..."eee, you see, the flies are flying around their bird bird" following tt comment, i looked and true enuff...it was an unpleasant sight for me...esp for an girl who lives in a urban city..





cldn't get a good pic of the pony, cos pple around me were mad about feeding the ponies and i was blocked most of the time...Think the ponies have really nice, soft and large eyes...coupled with long eye lashes...really pretty..but the goats' eyes weren't tt nice, in fact, it look like the vampire type of eyes, instead of having a round eye black, they have a vertical nut shaped eye black, surrounded by lotsa eye white...weird











This white parrot here, was really a show-off...it was parading up and down the cage, when pple began to crowd around it...and it was bending its head up and down, left and right..and trying flapping its wings..and letting pple take pictures of its "fantastic poses"...haha...but, somehow, it jus wldn't cooperate by repeating the words tt we spoke to it...the most, i got, was a mimic of the whistle i made...

It was definitely interesting to see lotsa animals...i saw cute little doggies...regretting not taking pictures, cos there was this little doggie, getting it fur trimmed, and it was shivering...you can actually see the dog, trembling while the lady was trimming its fur...and it was so kawaii...but frightened...Had a eventful day and Here's yours truly...signing off! ja ne~
